5 Songs That You Wouldn’t Expect On My iPod

Filed Under:

C’mon, don’t tell me you don’t secretly feel guilty about having certain songs on your iPod.  There’s gotta be at least one song that makes you go, “I hope my friends don’t find out I listen to THIS.”  And if “this” is Miley Cyrus, please dunk your head in a sink of cold water and then slap yourself across the face a few times.  Anyway, the songs below aren’t ones that I’m necessary “ashamed” of, but if my friends scrolled through my playlists, they’d certainly be shocked that I have these (even though most of them know that I have some pretty strange stuff on my iPod). I tried to include as many genres as possible. Now, why didn't I add a classical piece? Simple, because my real friends know I'm a not-so-secret Mozart and Chopin fan girl.

5. DotA - Basshunter
Okay, I LOVE techno, but most people don't know that. This song is just so catchy, even though I had to Google the lyrics to find out what he was singing about. The only reason this is on the list is because of those lyrics, because this song is actually about dotA, or "Defence of the Ancients", which is related to Warcraft III. Don't ask me how, just wiki it. And yes, I consider Warcraft very, VERY lame.

4. Forever - Chris Brown
Hip-hop, Regina? Really? Yes, this is probably one of the only mainstream songs I like. Why? Because of this line: "All you've gotta do is watch me/ look what I can do with my feet." What can you do with your feet (other than dance), Chris Brown? (Youtube wouldn't let me post the actual music video, so if you really want to, look it up on Youtube because it's so entertaining.)

3. Christmas Don't Be Late - Alvin And The Chipmunks
This is such a classic, and my Christmas wouldn't be complete without it. Chipmunks, squeaky voices, need I say more? Actually, I probably should. Maybe the reason I like this is because I miss my childhood, or maybe I just like to hear what people sound like on helium. Either way, this song makes me happy/want a hoola hoop.

2. Underwater Friends - Dethklok
...er, yeah.

1. You're Gonna Miss This - Trace Adkins
Yes, I know this is by the same man who sang the atrocity known as "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk", but for some reason this song really speaks to me. I guess it's because this song reminds me that we all have to grow up some day. And yeah, I'm gonna miss it. :( Did I mention that he came second on The Apprentice?

So, do you have any songs that are completely out of your character? 'Fess up. :P

Did you know that Forever is actually an extended version of a bubblegum commercial? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liq0gek8Fpk

I've learned to never be surprised by what people listen to. I'm actually a hip hop/R&B type of girl, but I like *some* other stuff.

At least I'm starting to outgrow the High School Musical soundtrack!

I have a few bubblegum pop from the likes of Britney Spears inside my collection. I still listen to her sometimes, especially songs from her first and second album such as "Baby One More Time", "Oops..I Did It Again" and "Lucky" to name a few. I am quite happy she made a comeback with the "Womanizer" song lately, love that video as well.

Oh my gosh, I'm not the only one who finds the DoTA song catchy! It's kinda funny how it's about Warcraft III though. :P I think techno in general is pretty infectious, even if it's not what I usually have in my playlist. But hey, guilty pleasures are usually the most fun!

    oh reg,
we've talked about this already but here are my thoughts:

    5. hahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaha
warcraft lolz. my earlier comment on how this guy does't look like a warcraft fan and a girl shouldn't be allowed in the video still stand.
Techno is awesome though, it gets a bad rap but it's so hypnotisingly awesome, except that super creepy song that says "right here, right now, right here, right now" over and over, that scares me.

    4. We share the thought that this is the best song of the hiphop/pop genre in modern times/maybe ever. Also Chris Brown doesn't have to do anything with his feet but dance, he's chris brown. No reason to be guilty about this one.

    3. Hoola hoops are awesome and never go out of style. Original chipmunks kick but. Chipmuncks singing about hoola hoops and christmas = music gold. I miss my childhood too, i sound like i'm 90. But honestly total return to innocence listening to this.

2.Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...so i didn't know about this one i think we need to talk...

    1. You're lucky to have a friend like me, she said humbly, who doesn't imediately hate all country, that and just like alvin and the chipmunks, childhood is awesome i already miss it. I've never been one of the people who can't wait to grow up, since i was six i've wanted to be five again. This song makes me want to stop time before i grow up, you can stay paused in time too, like vampires, fun. This song makes me sad and i completely agree.

    My own list:
    -Beep & I don't need a man - PCD

sorta guilty sorta not (also my personal theme song):
-In the Ayer- Flo Rida ft. Will.I. Am.

-90's boy bands, it's how i was raised

That's basically it, i'm not even that guilty about those, i stand by my songs, that's right including early jonas brothers/ solo-nick stuff where he sounds like the jackson 5, the jackson 5 are awesome.

I still want a hoola hoop,
Marbles (who else would write this much)

Something to say?
