March Break and Thoughts on Prom
Today is the last day of March Break week, and I'm not ready to go back to school. Boo. Here's a list of what I did:
- Added 2 new pages to this blog, since Blogger lets you do that now. I added an "about me" page and a "blogs I read" page --> Links are in the sidebar.
- Finally watched Avatar. It was great; you can't go wrong with that storyline. I didn't think it was as awesome as everyone hyped it up to be, but it was an enjoyable experience. I also discovered that I get incredibly nauseous when watching action shots in 3D. Wearing 3D glasses on top of regular glasses is pretty uncomfortable too, but I got used to it.
- Played piano like crazy.
- Planned out some hotel details for my summer trip to France with Nick. So excited!
- Went shopping and tried on some dresses for prom. Nick and I also bought each other 1 year anniversary presents. :)
If you are still in school, do you get a break in March? If so, what did you do?
I also proved today that you don't know what looks good unless you try it on. I had been set on buying an A-line dress or an empire waist, but it turns out those just make me look pregnant. Instead, I looked better in the dresses that I had previously deemed too "tight" (probably because the girls modeling the dresses were in very... erm, suggestive positions). I didn't look like a skank! :D
My friends will also tell you that I'm very worried about my hair. I'm not sure what would look good for my face and hair type: I have a heart shaped face and black straight hair that goes down past my shoulders (picture in sidebar). Any suggestions?
I also wouldn't mind suggestions/past-experience-sharing from people who have attended prom. What was yours like? How did you get ready for it?
I get a week of spring break in March (basically the past few days), and well -- I went to France! You're going to love it there when you go this summer!
It's so crazy that girls are buying their prom dresses 4 months beforehand. I remember one girl who went to freaking PARIS to get her dress fitted. Truth be told, I didn't take prom as seriously as others, and I'm kind of glad that I didn't. I probably would have been way more stressed if I was fussing over my hair and dress. I think I started prom preparations (which basically meant ordering a dress and making dinner reservations) about two weeks beforehand.
Your trip to France sounds so exciting! :D You'd better take lots of pictures and blog about it. ;)
My March Break was pretty low-key - I cleaned my room, hung out with friends a bit, and had a bit of me time... which I haven't had in ages!
It still blows my mind that you and Nick have been together for a year.
I think it's crazy that people buy their dresses so early too, that being said I may go shopping in the US soon to look for one, because the dollar is almost at par, and finding me and dress is difficult.
Why did you not tell me that you were thinking those cuts, cause I could have probably told you that.
Also we never got a chance to have you coem over so I could curl your hair, we shall do that soon!
In case you can't tell, I LOVED prom in high school. :D I went twice - once my junior year, and another my senior year. I spent a lot of the time getting ready for it in the form of dress shopping, shoe shopping, etc. My mom did my hair and makeup, so that was nice (and free :P) and then the rest of it was organizing groups with friends for dinner, limo, and after party.
You'll have a blast at prom ;D
Your summer trip sounds really exciting!!! I didn't know you've been with Nick for a year already.
I know a LOT of girls have bought their prom dresses already, and if they haven't, they're definitely looking. I'm not going to prom, though.
I played stylist for my friends during prom, but we only started getting their dresses made about a month before prom. It's ridiculous if you get a dress around 4 months before the actual thing.
